Construction

How it’s built.

A cedar log wall is structure, insulation, exterior siding, and interior finish, all at once, all in one course. The 1160 carries the same 6×6 D-shape log up into a log shed dormer, so the second story is solid cedar too.

Questions

Cedar log questions.

Everything specific to the 1160 Cedar Log. Full FAQ →

The standard plan has a bedroom suite on the main floor and a loft suite upstairs, each with its own bath, plus a second bath off the hall. The alternate plan puts two smaller bedrooms on the main floor and keeps the loft suite. The exterior is the same either way.

Beyond choosing between the offered floor plans, no. The package is a fixed plan with no structural substitutions.

We don’t provide the roof insulation. We do provide interior rigid insulation and premium cedar T&G that brings the log walls to R-16.

The 950 is one story with a balcony loft. The 1160 is longer and turns most of its length into a real second floor, with a bath upstairs.
